The museum welcomes school groups from primary level upwards. There is suitable provision for all levels and types of education, and visits are tailor-made to meet every teacher’s expectations. There are also educational resources to prepare for or accompany the visit.

Guided tours are free of charge and can be booked for 50 persons maximum per time slot.

Guided tours with games booklet

The museum offers young pupils (as of third grade) the chance to go and explore its collections while they solve the mystery of the bank’s strongbox. Accompanied by a guide and equipped with their game booklet, the junior detectives will have to perform several tasks in order to obtain the strongbox code... Available in French and Dutch, this tour promises to be exceptionally exciting and rewarding!

Participants : maximum 50 per time slot

Duration: 1-1 ½ hours



Time slots: Monday to Friday at 09.00, 10.30, 13.30 and 15.00.

Guided tours

The museum invites students from all levels and types of education to take a guided tour suited to their studies. Available in French, Dutch or English, this guided tour aims to be as interactive as possible. During the booking, the teacher can choose what the main topic of the tour should be (economics, history or both combined).

Self-guided tours (only between 12.00 and 13.30)

School groups can also visit the museum totally independently. The audio guides provided enable students to choose for themselves which parts of the museum they want to explore. Pupils can also be given a booklet (dealing with history or economics). For convenience, self-guided group tours are possible around lunchtime and are subject to advance booking free of charge using the booking form.

The group must not exceed 75 persons.

Teachers’ seminar 

Every year the National Bank holds seminars for secondary level economics teachers.

The previous seminar took place on Wednesday, 4 October 2023 (Dutch) and on Wednesday, 11 October (French).  The theme of the seminar was 'The Belgian economy has to create a durable prosperity'.
